Christmas Market with Christ Child Procession
The entire village is illuminated by evocative Christmas lights. Christmas trees at the Herrnhausplatz and in front of the church shine brightly in the Christmas attire. A petting zoo awaits the youngest visitors. Weisenbläser (traditional group of brass instrument players) perform traditional tunes setting the mood for the Advent season. The Brixlegger Weihnacht is perfect for strolling leisurely through festively decorated streets, enjoying Christmas stalls and lingering in the shops.
Members of various Brixlegg clubs and numerous hobby craftsmen have been busy producing, knitting and carving. Homemade jams, oils, liqueurs and local honey are not to be missed. The Brixlegg Christmas market highlight is the grand Christ Child procession on 21st December 2024 - enjoy the magic of mesmerised children and the contemplative atmosphere of this unique event!

3:00 - 7:00 p.m. Brixlegg Christmas Market
The Brixlegg Christmas market has become an insider tip in the Tyrol. Delicious treats such as "Zillertaler Krapfen", Kiachl (sphere shaped doughnut speciality) and Christmas biscuits sweeten the pre-Christmas season. Weisenbläser (traditional group of brass instrument players) perform traditional tunes setting the mood for the Advent season. Christmas decorations, Christmas tree decorations, but also hand-knitted socks, gloves or hats can be found at the numerous market stalls. Homemade jams, apples, liqueurs and local honey can also be bought.
3:00 - 7:00 p.m. Farmers' Market
The Brixlegg farmers' market is a fixture on many visitors calendar of events - not only at Christmas time. Every first Saturday of the month local farmers offer bacon, cheese, sausages, schnapps and many other regional products.
Petting zoo & pony rides
The Brixlegg Christmas market highlight is the grand Christ Child procession - enjoy the magic of mesmerised children and the contemplative atmosphere of this unique event! The Christ Child procession in Brixlegg has a long tradition (over 30 years) and some of the costumes worn by the participants date back to the Passion Play times. At approx. 5:00 p.m. the Christ Child with Mary and Joseph seated on a decorated carriage and accompanied by the ringing of the church bells solemnly parade through Brixlegg's streets. Groups of angels and biblical figures with shepherds and sheep creat an evocative atmosphere. The procession gathers below the Wörz Villa for the grand closing ceremony. Alphorn players play Christmas carols, shepherds warm themselves by the fire and the biblical family can be admired in the manger.
